The Trilogy of Ocean, Coast and Climate: The Urgency and Exigency of Literacy The International Ocean-Climate School (IOCS) of the Open Ocean University brings together three content areas - ocean, coast and climate literacy - and several methodologies - participatory simulation, educational gaming, foresight and debriefing. It is open to all applicants interested in the interactions among ocean, climate and humans. The School is of special interest to stakeholders in planning and acting for the future of the ocean and the coast as we want them to be, especially the future as it will be shaped by accelerating global warming and climate change. Stakeholders may include: Researchers, decision makers, citizens, scientists, students, activists, environmental organizations, NGOs, scientific institutions, local and central government agencies and their representatives, business and industry, local politicians, health, tourism, utilities, military and transport.
