Engineering Matters (a radio programme) celebrates the work of engineers who use ingenuity, practicality, science, theory and determination to build a better world. In this podcast released on 25 February, Engineering Matters focuses on ocean science and celebrate the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development as a unique opportunity to deliver the science we need for the ocean we want. 

Experts from geo-data specialist company Fugro, The Nippon Foundation-GEBCO Seabed 2030 Project and the Intergovernmental Oceanographic commission of UNESCO were invited to describe the technologies and strategies that will guide a collective movement to improve ocean science for a safe, equitable, and sustainable future. 

The project Seabed 2030 and the newly launched UN Ocean Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development are discussed in detail, providing information about their respective goals and objective.
