The Pacific Community Workshop offered a crucial opportunity to co-design mission-oriented research strategies in line with the 2030 Agenda and the Samoa Pathway. Find attached the summary of this meeting.

The first United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development regional consultation was held at the Pacific Community (SPC) headquarters in Noumea, New Caledonia, from 23-25 July2019, gathering more than 70 participants from across the Blue Pacific Continent.

The aim of the meeting was to communicate the purpose and expected results of the Decade to regional stakeholders as well as to engage and consult with them, by further developing and prioritising the scientific questions identified at the First Global Planning Meeting, and by identifying the regional needs in data and capacity-development and training
